Leonardo Balsalobre completed his entire medical training at UNIFESP, the Federal University of São Paulo: medical school, residency in otorhinolaryngology, a master’s degree and a PhD. He also did his Rhinology fellowship there, under Prof. Aldo Stamm, a pioneer of endoscopic sinus surgery in Brazil.

For several years he was an affiliate professor in the Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology division at UNIFESP, where he was in charge of pediatric rhinology.

He has published extensively in Brazilian and international journals, with a focus on rhinosinusitis, nasal polyps, cerebrospinal fluid leaks and endoscopic skull base surgery.
